Out of the heart, the mouth speaks. “You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked?) For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart, the mouth speaks. The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things”. (Matthew 12:34-35).
What is your heart telling you today? Is your heart working alongside your Spirit or your flesh? How do you deal with a heart that is heavy? Do you know how precious your heart is to the Father? Whenever you are hurt by someone, and you feel the need to take revenge upon yourself, do you know how much pain you are putting yourself in? God does not want any of us to take matters into our own hands. When we are hurt, which usually happens regularly, it is an opportunity to consult and seek the Father rather than being your own solver. I was talking to a friend recently and saying that ‘failure is not denial’. So many of us put so much emphasis on our failures than we do our successes.
The more you speak defeat over your circumstances, it will start becoming bigger and you won’t have enough strength to handle it. Your words are seeds. I cannot emphasise on this enough. Once something is stated or said from your heart, it becomes an action and in turn a habit. Do not be surprised at the outcome you get because what you have said has given birth to it. In other words, you are allowing the way you feel to control you. This can’t always work out that way because your Flesh and Spirit are already in a war. The Spirit is always willing to support, care, nourish and develop us, but the Flesh always wants to manipulate, control, take over, and be its own boss.
When all is done, you will come to a point where you just surrender it all; you realise that maybe you’ve bitten more than you can chew and you are finding it hard to pick up the pieces. Yes, it does happen, but it does not mean you should stay in that position. Your heart is meant to be healthy at all times. Your heart is meant to be fed at all times. What are you feeding your heart with today? Gossip? Drama? False perceptions of people? Doubt? Fear? Self-Pity? Low Self-Esteem? God cannot work when all these obstacles are blocking Him. Instead, He wants us to lay it all down at His feet, but why is it so hard? Maybe it is because we are trying to be our own solver. We can’t expect a new blessing if we are following the same routine.
Have you ever said something and thought, Where did that come from? The truth is it came from down inside you somewhere. You had to think it at some time, or it wouldn’t have come out. This relates to your heart. Everything you say comes from within. No-one pushes or forces you to say something that is beyond your character. When you are angry with someone, and you tell a friend about the situation, whether the friend encourages or discourages you to stay away from the person, you have EVERY RIGHT to discern whether the person’s motives are genuine. If you continue allowing people to control your thoughts and actions, you won’t be able to make decisions of your own because you feel inclined to always listen to people other than your own voice.
Proverbs 23:7 says that “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”. Anything you see yourself as is who people will view you as. If you see yourself as a failure, others will also see you as a failure, but when you learn to see yourself as successful, others too will see you as successful. And guess what? If others don’t see you as successful but you do, what is your concern about the opinions of man? Remember, OPINIONS ARE NOT FACTS, NEITHER ARE THEY TRUTH! What is in our hearts ultimately come out of our mouths. We can find out the true condition of our hearts by listening to ourselves. If you do not like how you talk to yourself, ask God to help you think as He thinks. You must endeavour each day to speak good things from a pure heart.
Your heart and spirit are working together for your good. A good heart will attract a good spirit, and having a healthy heart produce a strong and intimate relationship with the Father because remember that the Father is a Spirit and He cannot dwell when there is too much drama. Your heart can either cause you tension or peace; you decide, but do not allow your circumstances to change your heart. Learn to appreciate every dark season in your life knowing that it will pass. Nothing you are facing right now will last forever. There will be a time where you will cry no more, worry no more, stress no more. But since we are in the world, we will encounter troubles, trials, tribulations, but do not let any of these things waver your FAITH! Always have Faith in ALL SITUATIONS” Whether it seems so bad that no-one can understand you, guess what, GOD UNDERSTANDS BECAUSE HE KNEW YOU EVEN BEFORE YOU WERE IN YOUR MOTHERS WOMB (Jeremiah 1:5).
One thing I have come to realise in my beautiful season is that when I am down, I LOVE encouraging other people around me, as it takes my mind off myself and allows God to heal my pain, whilst I heal someone else’s pain. Being a helping hand to someone contributes to a happy heart rather than being coiled up in a circle and throwing yourself a pity party. It really is not worth it! You have got so much to give when you offer a hand to someone else. In my previous blog posts, you will see that I mention quite often how I cannot relate to people who haven’t gone through anything. When I confide in people who are going through what I am facing, it opens my spirit for healing and restoration. I am reminded that I am not alone and that God is using people to comfort me in my time of need.
You cannot do everything by yourself. It takes a confident heart AND spirit to say “I really need your help”. As Christians, this is our role to play. We are not here to criticise, judge or treat people unfairly, but we are meant to use our pain as a healing tool to serve and deliver others out of bondage. Your pain should not be kept within you, it will literally eat you up from within. Your heart will begin to turn sour towards others as you have not given yourself the permission to be free. Please, do not misunderstand me, it is not everything you tell a person, but the trouble that is really making you itch, those are the conversations you should be having with a trusted friend, confidant or sister. I would really dislike going through a circle of trauma where I end up being more hurt than I initially was, and this has happened to me quite a couple of times. Even at times when I tell people about my concerns, it just felt so heavy that I ended up asking myself why did I say anything? At that time, I expected my friend to understand me, but all I heard was “It’s going to be alright”. But sometimes if I am honest with you ladies, you will need to hear more than that…
I know people may never understand you, and for this reason, I encourage you to have a PERSONAL, strong, intimate, tight, and stable relationship with the Lord Jesus. Being real with Him allows your heart and spirit to be aligned to His Word and Will. When you lay everything at His feet, He promises that all other things shall be added onto you. So, do not worry about what you have lost, believe that you will gain double! Just let Him in your heart. Do not block him out, no matter the length of pain you encounter. Do not come to a point where you think you don’t need the Father, because, I promise, you’ll end up finding Him again. So save yourself the drama, the stress, and agony and seek Him. (Matthew 6:33).
Your heart and spirit need nourishing. How do you do that? By studying and meditating the Word of God. When everything seems blurry, just pick up your Bible, and take your time to study. Do not just skim read of skip a few pages, because you may miss a Word that was meant to initiate your breakthrough. Give your heart and spirit the tender loving care it needs. The same way you exercise for your body to look and feel fit is the SAME way your heart and spirit also needs to be fit. Remember that what you say to yourself is what you are going to become. Do not be surprised at the outcome if you have invested negativity to your seed. Your seed must be nourished, fed and kept healthy in order to produce a wonderful result.
SO TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS THAT WE MAY GET A HEART OF WISDOM (PSALMS 90:2)
I will be publishing my book on healing: – “It’s Time to Heal” . This book is for the young woman that secretly has enough of life and the constant battle of feeling insecure in herself; she is intentional about breaking out from her secret struggles, but still seeks to compare herself with others. Yes, she desires to be healed, but her past is battling with her future. She knows what it is like to feel left out and often ends up hidden in the corner broken. No one knows the real agony she faces, so she puts it on with a smile and a few laughs. But little did she know that something is missing: HEALING. It’s Time to Heal is a guide that reminds her of the Father’s love and His promise in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give YOU a future and a hope”. She will be uplifted knowing that her future is bright and that healing is available when she makes the choice.
