You don’t need to pretend

It can be frustrating when plans you initiate don’t happen the way you expected.

How about the time when you worked so hard and did not feel recognised for it?

Felt quite insecure because you knew how much work you put into it?

How about if friends you thought would be in your life forever have slowly drifted apart?

Do you still feel the same with or without people? When are we going to be real with how we are feeling, and not pretend? It can be obvious when people are going through certain situations due to their level of conversation with you. Communication may have gone down, the friendship or relationship becomes less intimate, you start to feel somewhat alone, but, in all these, God is in the midst of it.

I wonder what would have happened if we all expressed it as we feel. Being truthful and honest about what is really going on in our lives and in our world. We are living with people who have different values, beliefs, attitudes, lifestyles, you name it. We can’t change anyone, however, we can be the change in somebody else’s life.

2017 taught me that life is not about me or my desires alone, but for the benefit of other people. Notwithstanding, there is no need to cut yourself off or rinse yourself dry for others without first feeding yourself with the energy you need to carry towards others. Do not feel the need to sort every issue in your life, it is tiring and as human beings, we are not built to fix everything.

Inner peace and acknowledgement of the Word of God (the Bible) is the way in which I can expressively be who I am. I don’t need to pretend or fake it towards God as He already knows how I feel. You will have a few people in your circle that you can be transparent and open towards; take every advantage of it for you do not know what encouragement and kind words can come out of it.

Above all, never write yourself off or give up on what you are passionate about. Instead, be real with where you are right now, ask yourself what steps to take towards the next level and BE FOCUSED! Be positive, be YOU!

Let’s enjoy November and December 2017 until we enter 2018! I can’t wait! But for now, let’s enjoy this moment that we have. Make the most of it and grow from the challenges so that it will strengthen us for the road ahead.
