According to Merriam Webster, she defines anger as “An intense emotional state induced by displeasure”. It can be very easy to be displeased by a thing or by a person. When we get angry at a person, we are displeased about the way they have treated or acted towards you. Anger at a person always implies strong disapproval.
Not only that, but it can be very frustrating when you have been waiting such a long time for something to happen. You feel as if nothing is changing as the days are flying by. I remember reading about Job and he was talking to God cursing the day he was born. He had a lot going on through his mind, and he was just about to give up on life. When you read the Bible, and study what people went through, I am sure we can all relate to their pain. It’s not only being upset because you haven’t received your blessing or your breakthrough, but how about the times where you were angry with God when he did not give you what you wanted at your ‘appointed time’?
My best scripture through this year is Habakkuk 2 v 3 which says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end fulfillment; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait earnestly for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day”. This scripture speaks to many volumes in its own way. I have been waiting for quite a few things to happen in my life, God knows them all of course, but I hope some of us can relate when I say this. I have visions of where I am going, and I am being so positive on that specific day, God will grant it to me. All of a sudden, the outcome is opposite. When we encounter these sorts of situations, BE HAPPY! I know it may not be what you want to hear, but God loves you too much for Him to give us some things that is not His will for our lives. Things that you expect so much may go to someone else, but does that mean you have to be angry at God? No. We do not have any right to be angry at God in any way, and I am also learning as well.
Has it ever crossed your mind that sometimes you can bring anger towards yourself? If you really study the Word of God, He speaks about His peace! (John 14 v 27). When you have peace in your heart, you won’t have time looking at what your friend has, or being angry at God because He did not bless you when you thought it should come. Instead thank God for the delay, because the truth is, BLESSINGS CAN BE DELAYED, BUT NOT DENIED! It may take time for some of us to get this into your minds, but the first time I heard this from Bishop TD Jakes, it clicked so well! Now I can lift up my hands and say ‘thank you Jesus for delaying my blessing, because I know your timing is right for me’, and so can you too!
We cannot go ahead of God, we just have to hold His hand and keep quiet, and watch Him work wonders in our lives. Let us not be so inclined in wanting things now, that we do not realise how far God has brought each and every one of you. Make a decision today to let go and let God of your anger, but to also thank God for all the good things He has done in your past, so that it will enable you to remember that your future will be bright! What you go through now behind closed doors, God sees everything. No-one is ever alone! No matter how you feel right now, God always uses people to bless us in different ways.
Many times we get so wrapped up in achieving our life’s goal that we miss the opportunity to stop and be thankful for the things we have already achieved. When working diligently to complete a race we often stay focused on the finish line. While determination is critical in achieving anything, I challenge you to slow down the pace every now and then, look back at the ground you have covered and applaud yourself for making it thus far. Give God the praise even when the goal seems only a distant blur.
Remind yourself always to have a thankful heart, because God’s plan for you is always for good and never for evil. So when He takes someone out of your life, don’t be angry. When you haven’t had enough finances, don’t be angry, when things seem so confusing and you feel as if you have been mis-treated, don’t be angry; instead rejoice, because in that moment, God can show up and pour you out a blessing that you will not have enough room to receive!
As much as you want to plan your life, it has a way of surprising you with unexpected things that will make you happier than you originally planned. That is what you call GODS WILL! 🙂
God bless you and please encourage someone today!
