Following my last post in regards to being quiet at times, we also need to be aware of the way in which we think about certain situations. It is so important to know who God is in your life! How can you have God and not win? That is impossible. In all things, having God can make anything possible, particularly when God is for you. Nobody can be against you when you are a Child of God! (Romans 8 verse 31).
Wisdom also comes from the way we think and perceive certain things to me. In James 1 verse 5, it says “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God, who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him”.
It is indeed a natural habitat to be blessed because you ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BLESSED! But blessings comes with a positive mindset! You cannot draw strength from people around you, because some people may not like it when you go up another level. Jesus Himself performed several miracles on the Sabbath day, and yet the Jews and Pharisees did not like the fact that He healed people on that specific day. (In reference to Luke 14 v 3 and Matthew 12 v 1-14; you can read more of these scriptures in greater detail). Why did they question Him? Because their mindset was set negatively towards Jesus, that was the main reason why. In other words, Jesus had haters, however that did not stop Him from fulfilling His destiny! Sometimes you need to continue being positive despite the enemies that are surrounding you! In other words, Jesus was Himself, and never changed for anyone! Let this be a reminder to NEVER change for anyone regardless of your situation(s). You have to position your mindset positively, when troubles comes your way. It may seem crazy or weird to smile through pain, but that is the best way you can endure it!
We need to realise that God is a miracle worker, but we also need to strongly understand that God can only work miracles according to the level of your Faith! Not only that, but how you perceive your current circumstances; what you are going through, are they enabling you to be better, or become bitter? Is your painful moments enabling you to Praise God even when you do not want to, or is it drawing you closer to God to trust Him that He will see you through! He said in His Word that when we pass through the waters, He shall be there for us! You need to have FAITH to believe that He has the BEST plan for you! God will not draw you into certain dilemmas if He wouldn’t pull you out. If He doesn’t meet your needs, you should still be able to Praise Him anyway! Do not wait for God to open up the floodgates of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, then you ‘decide’ to praise Him according to the way He works. All you have to remember is that what He done before in your past, He will do it again for your future!
It can also be very sad when people are offended by you doing well…IT HAPPENS! Jesus Himself marveled at the reaction He got from his own folks. It can be so painful when God blesses you, and your neighbor is secretly hating on you! What do you do when situations like this occur in your life!? Moreover, how can you be offended by someone who is smart, wise and functional? Do you choose to hate them just because they put in the hard work, and complain/compare yourself with them? That should not be the case…Some people can be limited because of their past experiences with people. They keep holding onto the past thinking that there isn’t any future for them. You should not be too quick to take offence when a situation arises because people are exposed to opportunities and do not use them, and eventually get offended about everything. Other times, it can just be pure laziness! This is why you ought to CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION, because when you limit your thinking, you are more inclined to jump into conclusions, and is too lazy to think it through.
It takes effort to be a good thinker. God gives us all opportunities but we have to use them wisely. Sometimes, we can easily blow our opportunities away because we tend to have bad perceptions. Perceptions are so powerful. It is believed that all humanity fell because of ‘false perception’ (In reference to Adam and Eve). When Satan tempted Eve to eat the fruit off the tree, and God told her not to, she was hesitant not to do it, but in the end, she gave in to the enemy and ate it! This is why we should resist the enemy, and He will flee from you (James 4 verse 7).
When your perception changes, nobody can:
- Hold you
- Stop you
- Limit you
- Bound you
You therefore move, function and act differently from others around you, and they will see something different in you that is not in them, and potentially they will follow your footsteps! How great it will be for you to be a leader! Take this situation for example:
“Church is like a gas station…you are purchasing more fuel to continue your car journey to your chosen destination”.
God cannot do great works if you are always negative or lack Faith. Because of your perception, you could be missing miracles and an opportunity to be valued. In other words, if you don’t expect much, you don’t get much!
- People who value what they have, get TWICE as much as people who become common with what they got.
Wonder what would happen in your life if you would CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION. Take two people for example A & B; both have the same God, the problem is not with the vessel, but their perception towards it! You should grab every opportunity you can and do not assume that you may not be blessed by it! This was a problem for me in my past as I would assume that I won’t get what I desired. When you perceive Gods presence as an opportunity, God will show you GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS, only when your perception is CORRECT!
You need to tell your enemies that they should NOT get an attitude when you are kicking up your ‘A Game’! You don’t have time to waste your opportunity to fit in with people! You should not have time to gossip or play games, or be around narrow-minded people, or live your life in a box, or go and play church. When you get around negative-minded people, you will have a negative outcome of everything that comes your way. You may not realise it now, but it starts from your mind!
At times, I tend to listen carefully to what my friends are talking about, and how they are going to be beneficial to me or or not. Sometimes, you will know how far you are going in life, but what you are your neighbor is talking about, because really and truly, you are getting what you are thinking.
God will not force you to believe in Him. Its a choice that you have to make for yourself! Its all about your perception. If you don’t want anything, you won’t get nothing. There is nothing too hard for our Daddy, if we truly believe! I do not know about you, but the God I serve can say and do anything. This is evident when He said with His mouth ‘let there be light’, and there was light. (Genesis 1 verse 3). If He blessed you before, you better believe that He can do it again because He does REPEAT PERFORMANCES! If He blesses you the last time, He will bless you again, because He changes not!
Your unbelief can affect your own blessings. You need to picture this in your mind: ‘You cannot work in an atmosphere where you are not perceived correctly’. Bare in mind that we individuals have ‘outdated perceptions’ – Its not that you are not aware of God being a miraculous person, it is because you are becoming familiar with the little that you ‘think’ He can do for your life.
If you try to become common with the people you lead, you lose your leverage to minister to them. When people get common with you, you therefore become like them. It may not happen in a day, but overtime, you will be imitating what they do, so in other words, ‘you are not using your position wisely’.
Are you getting signaled from a flawed perception? You need to appreciate every opportunity that passes you by, because your opportunities has an ‘EXPIRY DATE’. It passes by and does not hang around. We need to also be aware that God cannot work in an environment that has low perceptions, because your attitude determines the way God will move in your life.
How do you perceive every situation you go through? When you value that opportunity that is coming towards you, you will get it! Anything that you do not value will not entertain you.
In Jeremiah 33 verse 3, God says “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know”. Darkness must always give way to the light! If you have the Faith to call out and ask Him, you will find it, with the right PERCEPTION!
