God Will Never Run Out Of Fashion

The pressure that women face today is so intense that it can make one have sleepless nights. The insecure feeling that most of us feel because of what society portrays; celebrities and the way they dress, the exposure of certain body parts to make them feel ‘sexy’, the best make-up to buy so you can fit in and look good. It is all too much effort. Why be someone else when you can embrace you?

It is easier said that done I know. Do not get me wrong, looking good is fabulous, but when we over analyse how God created us e.g “I hate my nose, it’s so big” “If only I had more hips” “If only I had bigger boobs” “I think I am gonna make my bottom bigger”…do these questions ring any bells? It says in Psalms 139:14 that “We are fearfully and wonderfully made”, and when we begin to believe that, then our insecurities will slowly fade away.

If I may ask, what defines you? Is it the make up you use? The hair you buy? The food you eat? All these things are vital. Yes look good, but check your MOTIVES…yes buy good hair, but ask yourself do I really need this…of course eating well is vital, but do it for the right reasons. I am going to ‘fast’, but really your trying to ‘lose weight’ by not eating, no it doesn’t work that way hunny! Aside physical food, how much Spiritual food are you eating? Are you digesting it well? Do you think it is helping you in the way it should? Could you share your Spiritual food with someone else when they feel down? Because it’s very easy to give people temporary advice when they are in a bad mood. “Just treat yourself hun, you deserve it”…Until the next lipstick from MAC comes out, and your losing sleep because of it. False misconceptions are deceiving so do not get sucked into it.

When I was 16, I would always complain about me wearing the same shoes to school and church. I tell you, it was embarrassing!! Until I talked to God and asked Him to grant me a job where I can afford better shoes. At present, the shoes I have now, wow you will be surprised! I always want to buy more shoes, not realizing the ones I already have at home, but don’t wear. How painful is that! Its funny when you think about it, because fashion will always change, but GOD WILL NEVER! He will never run out of fashion! If you feel you are not ‘fashionable’ enough, run to Him! He will change your life around! Once you submit yourself to Him, your mind won’t be so concerned about temporary things. God knows what we all need, but don’t confuse your needs with your wants. God is not to be mocked. He will give you want you need. God can only invest in someone who He can trust. So my question to you is CAN GOD TRUST YOU? Can God trust you with your small blessings? Can He trust you when you don’t feel special? That’s the challenge for you to figure out…

It is a strong desire for God to invest in us women, but in order for Him to do that, we must avail ourselves to Him. God won’t give you a greater return if you don’t give Him your all. God won’t give you a starter blessing, He wants to give you the main course! But you have to do your part by investing in Him; in other words, putting Him first in all your decisions. You can’t expect a breakthrough if you are running to everyone else, but Him. Maybe you struggle to put Him first because you are too eager to listen to mans opinion on what you should do regarding your current situation. But I am here to tell you to “Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be ADDED unto you” (Matthew 6:33). God wants to open up the windows of Heaven and pour you out a blessing that you won’t have enough room to receive! (Malachi 3:10). There is nothing hard about these two scriptures. It is basic instructions that must be followed by in order to gain peace of mind.

The things you are craving for now, I promise you, you are less likely to want it in the years to come. My example; I had a Blackberry phone for 4 years! Yes 4 years is long!!! But the good thing is that it lasted very well! Until I recently got an iPhone 5C. The pressure it took me to get an iPhone 5C knowing that a better one will come out in a few years time just drained me. Instead, I promised myself that I won’t bother about getting the latest iPhone, because I’ll be wasting my time. Why stress over things that won’t give you joy? Instead invest in Him, the only source OF your joy! There is a difference. God will never run out of fashion, and He will never give up on you! Man will, I know that for sure, but God, wow you should try Him!

He will teach you how to dress, how to conduct yourself, how to LOVE YOURSELF, how to love your flaws, your insecurities, your spots, your acne scars, the same shoes that you had for over five years. It’s a great feeling to know that you are always up to date in Him. He is the only one that can fill your lustful cravings. Don’t compromise what you want with what God can give you. God can give you more than you expect. Its time for us to start investing in God. Know that your fashion is in Him, not in the things you see with your eyes. Remember the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, and that is how it should be. Feed your Spirit and your flesh will die. My favourite saying; “It’s all about balance”…life is indeed about deciding what you are going to do, but not doing too much of it. For example, for those who like Facebook, try to not spend most of your time on it (unless it’s for relevant reasons of course), because what you use the majority of your time is what will feed you. The more you spend time with the Word, God will invest in you also. When you are on Facebook, Facebook will take most of your precious time. Know your boundaries.

Ladies, remember your worth is not in any temporary thing, it is only in Jesus. Until you start to believe that, then you will have peace of mind. Jesus is a gift that nothing in this world can replace. You can try all you want; try to be rich, only to lose your soul. Try to be like someone else, only to entertain your fears. Do not try to be like someone else. Love who you are. Create your own fashion because you are worth it!

Being ‘In-different’ is Beautiful

Being ‘in-different’ is beautiful (For those who understand)…true leaders are those who don’t blend in with the crowd…they stand out! If you desire to be a leader, you must learn how to stand alone. Lead and people will follow you. Leaders are unique! They are original! They do not imitate. They do not compromise. It’s good to be different. Embrace who you are. Stop trying to be like somebody else. Embrace your uniqueness. There can only be one you, so do you!

There is so much pressure in being who you are. It can be very frustrating when it seems nothing is going according to plan. Maybe you planned to get married this year, but your finances isn’t enough to support you. Maybe you graduated few years ago, but still haven’t found your full-time job. Maybe you are stuck and don’t know what to do in the near future. It seems very hard, and eventually gets heavy to carry. Believe I have been there, and it seems as if there is nobody to talk to. But I am here to tell you to LOVE WHO YOU ARE! You may not be where you want to be, but thank God that you are not where you used to be.

It is good to embrace who you are. The only way you can embrace yourself is through knowing God. So if I may ask, who is God to you? Is He just a friend that you speak to on Sundays only? Is He someone who you pour your problems to, and when they are fulfilled, you go back to your own lifestyle. In order to know who you, start spending more time with Him so that He can reveal Himself to you. The pressure is so intense because we feel the need to always be a part of a popular social group, to have the best high salary job, to buy the most expensive car, to get married at a young age.

I was at a stage in my life where I felt the need to get what my friends were getting. It stressed me out to the point where I just had to go into my secret place and seek the face of God. As much as I love my friends, they won’t always understand me. They won’t always understand why I go through things. There are situations that you will go through that your friends will question why you are still in that position. Do not see it as a bad thing; see it as the Grace of God that is upon you! Not a lot of people can cope with what you are going through, and to be honest, it may sound like a weakness, but really, it is a STRENGTH! You would be surprised at the things the enemy has tried to do to attack you, but because of the Strength of God, He has enabled you to endure through the process.

Jesus Himself was a leader. He never allowed His feelings or emotions get to Him. He knew His worth in His Father. He helped people. He healed people, He was creative, He was UNIQUE! When you start to realise your uniqueness in Him, you will eventually start to embrace who you are. So I say again, being in-different is a blessing from above! It reveals the Power of God in one’s life. When it seems you have done all you can to overcome your situation, you have informed all your family and loved ones, still to no avail, you eventually begin to realise that God is the only one that can take the pain away.

We will all go through the same, if not similar challenges, but we must be rest assured that He will not give us more than we can handle. Be strong in the Lord, and embrace who you are! Do not try to imitate somebody else. God did not create you to be like your neighbor. Yes they may look good, but you do not know the pruning and the shaping that God had to do on him/her to be in their position. Because we are in the world, the world will tell you that ‘Seeing is Believing’, but we have a God that operates according to our Faith! Through being in-different, it is about believing that you are more than others think you are. You are more than your status, you are more than your career, you are more than your finances, you are more than your possessions. Do not be deceived in what you own or how much you earn, because that won’t complete you.

Remember to always be happy in who you are. Learn to love yourself. Learn to appreciate your flaws. Even though you have made mistakes, don’t encourage pity parties. Instead, use it as an opportunity to give it all to God, because your problems in His eyes, are potential blessings to help you grow in Him. What the enemy uses against you, God will use it for your good. Ladies, I love you so much! I know how it feels to try to be someone you’re not. It is not easy. The sleepless nights, the constant tears, the frustrations, it is all too much!

If we could just make small steps in seeking God first in everything we do, He will comfort us in our areas of weaknesses. God does not like His children to be tormented with ungodly feelings, questioning whether something is wrong with us because we don’t like what others like, or because we can’t do what they do; He gave us His righteousness so we don’t have to believe those thoughts. When people are speaking to you, accept the fact that yes they may be intellectually smarter than you, but that does not give you any right to entertain your feelings and expose yourself to weakness. Learn to embrace and listen to people who have more knowledge than you, because they too had someone they looked up to when they were tempted to look down on themselves. Don’t push people away because you ‘think’ they make you feel small; God will not give you someone who will take your weaknesses for granted. He knows how to take those people out of your life!!

If you are struggling in being ‘you’, ask God to give you someone you can trust and speak to. He will surely grant you somebody. He already knows your personal problems, but still wants to hear your voice. Ladies, remember you are not alone, and never will be! Do not keep it in. Share your struggles with someone who God has placed in your life, and in conclusion, embrace your imperfections; they are what makes you beautiful!

What is feeding you?

What is taking most of your time? This is one of the most important question that must be asked in one’s life. How are you living your life? Are you constantly on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social media network? What you spend most of your time doing, is what will feed you. For example, lets say you want to invest £10,000 in a new business, but you don’t have the right resources, you lack character, self-confidence, you may not even have a business plan. So how do you expect to receive a greater return? Yes you may have the £10,000 but do you think it will be sufficient enough to run a successful business? Do you think it will be financially stable in the long run? Will it remain in the competition? To support this example, yes you aim to set up a business, but the majority of the time you are on social media sites that doesn’t have anything to knowing how to get potential clients to support your business proposal, or to create a mission statement. You can’t expect your business to thrive if you are not mentally ready, but socially addicted.

We must always remember that whatever you give yourself to, it will give it back to you. In Luke 6:38 (ISV) it states “Give, and it will be given to you. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your lap, because you’ll be evaluated by the same standard with which you evaluate others.” The more you put into people, the more people will put into you. When you put God first, He will also put You into His agenda. If you can reposition yourself and examine where you are at the moment, what your strengths and weaknesses are, that is a good starting point.

Remember that whatever you sow, that is what you shall reap, If you sow good, you will reap good; if you sow bad, you will reap bad, if you give 10% of your income to God, He will give Himself back onto you in ways that are far beyond your imagination. You would be surprised at the things God wants to offer to you but because you are too self-focused, it is blocking the way. Sometimes we are too focused on ourselves that we don’t realise that other people around us are in need. When we take our eyes off ourselves, and use it as an opportunity to help somebody else, there will be positive changes to your life.

Okay, so you may have set yourself some resolutions for the new year. We are now in the second month of 2015! What have you accomplished so far? For me, I have been saying I want to attend the gym, but because I am not researching  on what gym to attend, it’s not a keen desire anymore. That still isn’t an excuse to not eat healthy. We may have made plans that aims to be fulfilled at a specific time in our lives, but if we don’t work on them now, don’t expect it to get better in the near future. If you keep eating McDonald’s and other type of fatty/oily foods, don’t expect to have a flat stomach or healthy looking skin! You need to go through the PROCESS to PROGRESS! I really disliked hearing the word “process” because every time I hear it, it makes it seem as if my life was going so slow; all the plans I had in mind are not showing in my life. The areas I want to be elevation, I need to re-position myself and say “in order for me to get to where I want to be, I need to put in the hard work”. So today ladies, what are you doing to get to where you need to be?

What I would suggest is to buy a diary. Write in it every morning or evening (your choice), and write down all the things you desire to happen in your life. Be specific about it. Pray over it. Surrender and give it to God. Put and commit them into His hands, because no matter what you desire to become in life, if it isn’t according to Gods will, it won’t come to pass. We must also take into consideration the fact that we are ambassadors for Christ, so what our plans and dreams are, should be in alignment with His word and to His will.

How is your Spiritual life going? Do you feel it needs re-fueling? Brush up on your Word. When studying the Word, ensure you don’t rush into it. I admit, three years ago, I didn’t have that much of a passion studying the Bible. I felt it was too long for me to understand. Now I enjoy reading it as it gives me insight every day. The things I need to do to get my day going is all in the Word. When you feed your spirit with the Word, it starts your day on a positive note. The same prayer too! When you pray, God will answer. Although God already knows your needs, and painful situations, He still wants you to open your mouth and talk to Him. It could be a test; a test in your Faith and how strong you are in Him? Are you relying on Him as much as you should be? That is for you to answer.

To conclude, everything in life must be in balance; spend quality time with God, catch up with family and friends, go out and socialize, get to know other people, be kind to someone you don’t know, offer a helping hand to a neighbor, travel around the world, DO SOMETHING YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE! It will take your mind off yourself, and eventually will enable you to become more considerate of other people. The more you help others than yourself, the more God Himself will help you too. Don’t doubt Gods ability when it comes to His support. He will surprise you.

Remember when praises go up, blessings come down. Whatever you feed yourself, it is going to feed you. When you invest in the right things, the right things will come back to you. Don’t feel agitated or worried about life, or what stage you are at. Just trust that God is leading your steps (Psalms 37:23). Your steps are ordered by Him. Don’t let life define you. Don’t let the world feed you, but you feed it by sharing the love of Christ, and being in a position where you are ready to give, and not just receive.

Think of it this way; when you were a baby, your parents brought you up. They clothed you, sheltered you, providing you food and drink, kept you safe and ensured you got the best treatment. Now that you are getting older and maturer, why not return the favour and feed them back in love? This could be through cleaning the house, buying the shopping, surprising your mum with cooking (for those who don’t cook lol), giving your dad money. All these things, believe it or not are very essential in life. It takes time, perseverance and consistency.

Success does not happen over night. It happens when you plan ahead of time, and invest into things that will feed positively in your life. So ensure you are investing in what will give you a greater return! Feed what feeds you!

Feed what feeds you

Life is going the way it should be

I know it hurts. I can relate to everything you told me about. Remember last week Friday when we had that chat in the park?

Sometimes it seems as if the current situation you are experiencing is just too much to handle. People want to imitate you, not knowing the hidden pain that is burning inside. It takes confidence to put on a brave face and just smile through your confusion. But I am here to tell you that where you are in your life is not a mistake. You are at the right place and at the right time. Yes I know it seems as if you are not progressing in certain areas of your lives. You see other people working towards their future, and you on the other hand feels STUCK…

It’s those sayings such as “If only I knew I would be in this position” or “Why can’t I ever get it right?” These questions are often the most repeated and is gradually going to distract our attention from God. It’s vital to know when to move and when to stop. When to work and when to rest. When to let go and when to let God. You may think that your life isn’t going the way you planned, but I have come to tell you that it is. So do not worry! At the same time, we ladies cannot expect God to just show up when we want Him to, then leave Him aside when He has blessed us with all we need. We must be reminded always to seek God first in all we do, not just in the bad times, but also in the good times.

If I may ask, what can worrying actually do? Can it stop your tears from running onto your pillow? Can it help you pay the rent or clear your debt? Can it help find you a job? No, I am not saying that we should just be stagnant when problems occur, but be concerned about it. However don’t dwell on it and start to assume that God doesn’t love you, or maybe what you have done is preventing your blessings.

From my own personal experience, I have been through ups and downs, high and lows, happy days and sad days, but guess what I do? I smile!! I make someone else’s day. I love seeing people happy! I know a few people who may not have the energy to do this simply because they are thinking about themselves too much; they are too occupied with their own problems, not knowing that helping someone other than yourself is a way to de-stress! Where you are right now is no surprise to God. He was the one that brought you to this position. Where you are right now is God preparing you for your next step.

Lets really focus on something much more important. WHERE ARE YOU WITH GOD? Not a lot of people would want to answer this question simply because they don’t actually know, they feel embarrassed, or full of pride. Where we are now is no mistake. However we must ensure that we are constantly developing an intimate relationship with God everyday. It should not be a ‘Sunday thing’. Where you are with God is an indication of where He will take you in the near future. Once you are balanced in Him, in other words, stable and trusting in Him alone, He will reveal to you the next step in your life. Not only that, but you must have a HUNGER for the Word of God as this provides REAL NOURISHMENT!

I remember I would always say by a certain age, I would be doing this, earning £££, getting married etc, however my plans did not go the way I thought it would. Sometimes God will mess up your plans to bring you back to Him, and to remind yourself you do not own your life, but He does! The pressure is on to people what other people say we should be, not realizing that God wants you to be the way He created you. He did not create you to be an imitator! You are original!

Tomorrow is not promised. We must be serious about this statement. We must learn to appreciate where we are right now, and use it to move us into our destinies. We cannot live a life full or regrets, looking into our past and complaining about who left, who didn’t stay, who didn’t love you, why people hated you, why you didn’t get the job you applied for, why you didn’t pass your exams etc. These are questions get so many people confused about life, thinking that they don’t have purpose. Every one of you including myself has a purpose on this earth to fulfill! If you do not know yours, see what you love doing, and take that as a sign!

There is a time and place for everything and everyone so don’t force what’s not yet supposed to fit in your life

You are here for a reason! Everything in your life right now is working together for your good! (Romans 8:28). Whatever the situation is, know that it is just seasonal. It is not permanent! God will come in for you. He won’t leave you confused! His love is more than enough to keep you going on your feet. Just trust Him. There is a time and season for everything:

  •  A time to be born and a time to die
  • A time to plant and a time to uproot
  • A time to kill and a time to heal
  • A time to tear down and a time to build
  • A time to weep and a time to laugh
  • A time to mourn and a time to dance
  • A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them
  • A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing
  • A time to search and a time to give up
  • A time to keep and a time to throw away
  • A time to tear and a time to mend
  • A time to be silent and a time to speak
  • A time to love and a time to hate
  • A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).

Remember: Time is precious! So what are you doing in your spare time? Where you are now is working with time. Not on your timing though, only on Gods timing. So sit back, relax and enjoy the journey called LIFE!
