Do not give yourself the opportunity to be scared!

Fear Fear 1

You won’t be effective in this life if you can’t abide in God. No matter how you feel, it is vital to release the inner pain to God so that He can take the burden away. As we continue our daily lives, we must remember that the enemy is out there trying to plan our downfall. This is why in Ephesians 6, it states that we should put on the full armour of God. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the Spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12).

What am I afraid of? What is stopping me from smiling? What is making me become so lazy? Why aren’t I reaching towards my goals? These questions can spring to mind. It is easy because sometimes we base our past situations to dictate what our future will ‘look like’. In other words, we feel that because we did not receive that promotion in our last position, we may not receive it in a new position. If we keep looking back on our past, remembering the things that we did not receive, it will rob us from our future.

The way you can build your future is how you make it! It starts from within. Fear itself also starts from within. It is not something that someone passes onto you (although at times it can happen), but not as consistently as you give fear the permission to rule your life. God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of love, power and a STRONG MIND! (2 Timothy 1:7).  To some extent in our lives, there are things that will scare us. It could be a loved one who passed away, another job opportunity within in different environment, moving to another country permanently or just worrying about what the future has for you, however fear should push us to seek God even more in times of confusion and doubt.

Fear is a torment from Satan! We must remember that at all times so we can use the Word to fight against it. It is only when you are near to your next blessing, that is where the enemy will come in like a flood to deceive and manipulate you. A strong believer must know what and when God is speaking to them. We must know how to acknowledge our fears and not let it have any opportunity over us. Yes, the fear factor may face you, but it won’t consume you. That is if you do not let it. Until you get your breakthrough, DO NOT GIVE UP! Yes it is easier said than done, but that is our test. When it seems like your blessing is delaying, do you decide to take decisions into your own hands, or would you rather be at peace with yourself and hand it over to God?

This month is the last month of the year! What have you learnt throughout the past 11 months? How have you use your gifts and talents to help and encourage those around you? For me, I have learnt that nothing in this life can satisfy other than Jesus Christ. I have tried to find comfort and satisfaction in jobs, money, clothes, shoes, but none of these last. Yes we do need these things, but they are nothing to be compared to the Kingdom of God. God’s presence is more than enough for me, and I employ you to seek His Kingdom above anything else. As we continue to put God first, blessings will eventually follow us.

You were thinking about how you were going to find your job? But God says if you WAIT upon me, I will renew your strength, and you will mount up like eagles and not grow weary; you will run and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). If you seek me with all your heart, then you will find me. What is it that God cannot do for you today? Why do you feel the need to beat yourself up and cry because you were rejected? Don’t you know that Gods rejection is His protection for you? Why do you look at others envying what they have, not knowing what they have been through behind closed doors to get where they are? If God wanted to give you their blessing, He would have done so. So in the meantime, FOLLOW YOUR OWN LANE! Don’t look at what other people have, but trust God that He will grant your portion in His time, because He wouldn’t give you what you cannot handle.

When we operate in the will of God, we must require patience. I hear this word literally all the time! Patience can be classified as the opposite of fear; the reason being that fearful people are always reluctant and feel the need to get things now, but those who are patient can endure the painful process. We must remember that fear can come from any angle, but we must not bow to it.

If you are feeling scared, worried, anxious, or depressed today, speak to God. Let Him be the one to speak to your heart. Stop trying to figure out everything; how your life will look like in the next 5 years. Don’t put a barrier on what God can do. God won’t always be specific as to when He will bless you. He is a God of surprises and is the one who chooses who He decides to bless in His time! Another way of resisting fear is through speaking in tongues instead of weeping. The enemy doesn’t understand tongues, and it is a great way to communicate with God also. This is one effective way to ‘shout’ away your fear. Remember Jobs attack was a challenge between God and Satan. Do not give the enemy any opportunity in your life. I urge you to lift up your head and TRUST GOD IN YOUR FEARFUL MOMENTS!
